My Room

You find yourself standing in a room. How you got there is irrelevant, for now you are in this room. It appears to be a bedroom, as there is a bed in the room. Instantly, four things catch your eye. Which do you want to investigate? [[The cat curled up on the carpet]] [[The switch laying on the desk]] [[The sketchpad, also laying on the desk]] [[The mountain of Diet Coke and Monster cans forming out of the trash can (perhaps you should check this one last)]]

You turn on the Switch sitting on the desk and see Animal Crossing on the screen. Other games lay nearby too. You decide to check the hours played... Shit. You stop checking the hours played. I guess Kendall spends a lot of her time doing this. That may be good to keep in mind. ...Wanna play a quick game of animal crossing? [[PLAY ANIMAL CROSSING.]]

This is Kendall's sketchbook! At least you can assume. It has her name written on the front, sharpie and messy handwriting. The book has a thin layer of dust. Maybe she doesn't draw too much nowadays? You flip through the pages. There are many detailed drawings, mostly of her cat. You can tell a lot of care went into each. On the last page, the word "ideas" is listed at the top. There is nothing on the page. Perhaps she's been feeling uninspired lately? Maybe you should make note of this. [[You decide to draw a quick photo]]

Dear God. You have never seen so many empty cans of soda in your life. Is this a landfill? How is this girl alive? ...She's still alive, right? You feel ill. You hope it doesn't come to life and kill you. Good news! It doesn't kill you. Instead, it grabs you by your ankles and drags you into it's depths. [[You disappear.]]

This is Kendall's cat! She seems a bit shy. Her nametag reads "Mercy"... Bit of an odd name for a cat. There are pictures of her scattered across the room. Some hanging on the wall, and others sitting on shelves. You can tell Kendall cares about her a lot. Perhaps you should make note of this. You want to pet her. Do it. Please. [[PET HER.]]

Several hours later, you wake up. You are no longer in a bedroom. The ground beneath you is very solid and very cold. This appears to be... a cave? Before you are three paths. You suppose there's nothing else for you to do than take one. Which do you take? [[The path dimly lit by mushrooms of unnatural colors.]] [[The path where the echoing sound of running water in the distance bounces off the walls.]] [[The path that looks completely average. Rock walls, rock floors.]]

You take the path dimly lit by mushrooms of unnatural colors. They remind you of glowsticks. As you walk, you pause to touch the cap of one. It's warm against your fingertips, and slightly... sticky? After walking for some time, you see light signaling the end of the tunnel. [[You step into the light at the end of the path of glowing mushrooms.]]

You take the path where the echoing sound of running water in the distance bounces off the walls. Water trickles from an unknown source down the sides of the rock, somehow completely silent. You run your hand along the wall, and the liquid drips over your fingers. After walking for some time, you see light signaling the end of the tunnel. [[You step into the light at the end of the path of running water.]]

You've been walking for 10 minutes and the scenery hasn't changed. Why would you take this path? Were you expecting it to be special because it appears to be ordinary? Guess what. It's completely, 100% ordinary. Pranked. [[With a sigh, you turn back and return to where you came from.->You disappear.]]

You've arrived at a massive undergound lagoon. The water glows a brilliant blue, illuminating the entire room. You've never seen anything so beautiful. At the lagoon's center, on a rock under a waterfall, is a mermaid. Maybe? Oh shit, are those fangs? The mermaid makes eye contact, and beckons you forward with their hand. You have a feeling if you don't listen you will die :) [[You walk forwards to the water's edge.]]

You've arrived in a clearing of a massive underground forest. Amongst the giant, twisting trees are mushrooms of similar sizes, glowing similarly to the ones from the path. You've never seen anything so magical. At the center of the clearing, in a large patch of wildflowers, is a deer. Maybe? Oh shit, are those fangs? The deer makes eye contact, and beckons you forward with a nod of its head. You have a feeling if you don't listen you will die :) [[You walk forwards to the edge of the wildflower patch]]

The mermaid grins, baring their canines, and asks a simple question: "What was the cat's name?" (Do you remember?) [[Mercy.->Correct (Lagoon).]] [[Missy.->Incorrect.]] [[Grace.->Incorrect.]]

You answer. There is a flash of light, and then nothing. [[You disappear]]

Underneath your feat, the path suddenly changes from worn rock to flattened dirt. It seems you are in a relatively open area, with hills of grass and trees scattered across the land, but still clearly underground. After walking for a few more minutes, you suddenly come across a small hut, seeming made into one of the hills littered around the area. Oddly, the path ends at the hut. You decide to enter. [[(You enter the hut)]]

Its surface shines gold, and as you stare at it you feel yourself grow tired. You stop staring at it and store it in your pocket. Behind the waterfall where the mermaid sat, you notice a cave opening. Another path! You take one last look at the beautiful lagoon, enter and continue onwards. [[(You continue onwards)]]

Its surface shines gold, and as you stare at it you feel yourself grow tired. You stop staring at it and store it in your pocket. Behind where the deer sat, you notice a large opening leading into the ground. Another path! You take one last look at the beautiful forest, enter and continue onwards. [[(You continue onwards)]]

Upon entering the hut, it becomes very clear this belongs to some sort of witch. There are broomsticks, candles, crystals, and even something brewing in a cauldron nearby. As you take in your surroundings, a closed door across the room suddenly opens. The witch emerges from it, and locks eyes with you briefly before making her way to the cauldron and dumping something in it. A cuckoo clock begins to ring nearby, but it has no visible numbers. The witch pulls a note out of her pocket and walks over to you, a pencil materializing in her empty hand as she does. She hands you both and you look down at the note. It reads: "What was the game on the switch?" (Another fucking question?) [[Pokemon->Wrong]] [[Animal Crossing->Right]] [[Stardew Valley->Wrong]]

You scribble your answer down, and hand the note back to the witch. She travels over to the cauldron, and drops the note in. The liquid turns a shimmering green. She scoops some of the liquid into a jar, and hands it to you. You take a sip, and a puff of smoke obscures your vision. In your empty pocket, there is suddenly a weight. [[(You wave your hands to clear the smoke)->Oops]]

You scribble your answer down, and hand the note back to the witch. She travels over to the cauldron, and drops the note in. The liquid turns a goopy black. She scoops some of the liquid into a jar, and hands it to you. You take a sip, and instantly pass out just from the taste. Rancid. [[(You pass out)]]

When the smoke clears, you are standing in front of a bridge over a large ravine. Oddly enough, there doesn't seem to be much on the other side. You reach your hand in your once empty pocket and feel... Another key! This must mean you answered the witch's question right. You begin to cross the bridge, when suddenly a massive troll appears from behind a rock and blocks the bridge's path. The troll speaks: "I'm a troll. This is a bridge. Answer my riddle with your knowledge. What was on the ideas list in the back of the sketchbook?" (FFS) [[A grocery list->No]] [[Nothing->Yes]] [[Cat drawings->No]]

You answer, and the troll thinks for a moment. Then, it moves aside and allows you to cross! You cross over and look for the next way to go,

You land in the water below, and drag yourself out of the river's current onto land. In the side of the ravine is a small door with two key holes. Was this the right way after all? You put the keys in the door and unlock it, and step inside. (You step inside).

You wake up on a dirt path. It seems you are in a relatively open area, with hills of grass and trees scattered across the land, but still clearly underground. You feel like you've been here before, but have no memory of it... Perhaps it was a dream? You get up and beging walking. After walking for a few minutes, you suddenly come across a small hut, seeming made into one of the hills littered around the area. Oddly, the path ends at the hut. You decide to enter.
